School Sucks :(

Hey Dolls!!!!
Hope all of you had a fantastic start to the year because as you could tell from my last post, I definitely had a great time bringing in the New Year with friends and family back home in India!
So classes have started and after last semester, I still feel burnt out! I mean it is great being back and catching up with old friends, but this whole going to class business is just not my kinda thing!
Alternating between a business and a psych major can be real tough! The copious amounts of information that I have to process is wearing me down! Also I feel all these meat heads in my class (no offense but they are not really bright) seem to be grasping more information than me! So much for underestimating the enemy!
Well enough of me bitching and venting! I think a great solution to this problem is finding my calling. Earlier in the year I was jokingly telling my mom about how I need to take some time off and find my passion. To which she shrugged her shoulders and told me to suck it up! RUDE
I think I really need to introspect and realize what I want to do with my life before I waste any more of my parents' dollars! OOPS...
Hopefully by my next post I should have a clearer idea on what I am going to do. I know one thing for sure, right now my college education seems to be washed down the drain!
Just wanted to keep in touch and make sure you dolls are having a fabulous year!
Love you bunches...

New Year, New Me

Hey Dolls!!!
So it has been a very long time since we have connected and I do apologize for the delayed response! What can I say, it has just been such a busy time both academically and personally that I have barely had any time to breathe!
I ended last semester at Coe with a 4.0 GPA which was just FABULOUS. I had worked so hard (but partied harder) and it was just relieving to reap the fruits of your hard work...*tear, tear*
I left for India on the 15th of December and I was all charged up to be back at the motherland! It was also a special time because my cousin sister whom I am super close to was getting married!!!
Like everything else Indian, the wedding was grand, loud, and full of excitement. It was great seeing relatives from near and far, and just having a blast! After all the stress and commotion from last semester, this is a break I most definitely needed!
Christmas was a blast too. I headed over to my good friend Kim's house, who by the way is just such a doll. Kim is probably the most selfless person I have met, always helping out a friend in need! I just adore her family too, and feel right at home at their place. Every year, Kim's mom Anette cooks up this feast and their house turns into this massive celebration, where people walk in and out (by the end of the night they are stumbling)  from sunrise to the next sunrise!
The most refreshing part of being in India was a sense of belonging. I always feel at ease being in a familiar location. The hustle-bustle of a big city topped with the sirens of bustling traffic is soothing to my heart! I also love being in the company of my family because they embrace my craziness very uniquely to say the least! I had a great time catching up with friends and family, sipping on those delicious cocktails, enjoying the day spa with mom, relishing those well prepared homemade meals, devouring the street food, and most importantly being in great weather!
I headed back that long flight to America and much to my amazement, my baggage did not make it along with me. American Airlines really needs to get their act together before I slap a lawsuit on them! They lost my bags when I went to India too!
Well while I sip on my coffee and wait for my bags to arrive, you my darlings must wait for my next post which I promise will be soon. Obviously I must keep you updated with the weekend's shenanigans!
Until next time my lovelies...

Winter Essentials!!!

Hey Dolls!!!!
OMG, Iowa has officially become the north pole...i don't think we need to wait for december to see Santa!!!
It is that time of year to start thinking of what great winter accessories you're going to throw on because you have to look FABULOUS during all seasons!!!
Here is a sneak peak at some essential winter gear that should help you guide your style quotient this winter...
1. Erin Fetherston premiered some FABULOUS fall/winter couture early this year at fashion week!!! Inspired by Nico, the epitome of Bohemia, Fetherston used soft fabrics to combine chic with rock 'n roll!!!
2. Over the Knee boots: termed as this winter's must have essential, these classy boots are available in bold colors (purple being my fav!) for the risque, or just the classic black for those who like to keep it classy!
3. "Masculinized" wardrobes: its the year of woman power! Military prints and the traditional camel color palate is back! Features like bow blouses, ruffles and tailored waistcoats that feminize "masculine" styles are soooooo in style dolls!
4. If you have a fetish for scarves like me or hats like my friend Kari Bornong, there is something for everybody this winter. I just checked out 'Simply Vera' by Vera Wang, and let me tell you....her stuff is to die for! Given that classic gray and black are hot colors this winter, always remember to add some color to that palate with a HOT accessory....like the purple 'Simply Vera' scarf...or a fun Nobis Adora knit cap (super trendy this season too)...
5. SHOES: Tia Cibani at Ports 1961 has designed the "IT" shoes this season, with the two-tone angular heel which can be attached to several styles, including a crisscross platform sandal and tall boots in both leather and suede...yummy! The bootie trend is still very in and this year fashion icon Marc Jacobs, and fashionisita Olsen twins opted for lower heels! Whatever your preference, invest in some booties today!!!!
6. LBG: move over LBD...its the age of the little black glove! Oh so chic, and Oh so adorable! Jenni Kayne, igal Azrouƫl, and Dennis Basso all premiered their LBG obsession this year at fashion week! The most adorable one was Cushnie et Ochs, which was literally dripping with Swarovski crystals.
7. Lastly, geometric prints and accessories are totally in! Donna Karan showcased cubes, orbs, and jacks which added some edge to the slick black and gray palates!
Hope this helps you get a clue on what to wear this winter because no matter what the season, remember to always keep it stylish!!!
until next time dolls...

It Gets Better!!!

Hey Dolls!!!
hope you guys have been bundling up cause it is getting 'chilly' outside! I know I have been really bad about updating you FABULOUS dolls with the latest happenings, but being a college student is just so hard! However things are going to change!
I wanted to start off talking about the HUGE "It gets better" campaign that had the nation by storm. The campaign is set up to end homophobic bullying and bigotry. So many people have shown their support and it is amazing to say that times are officially changing! Homophobic bullying, slander, and bigotry are just ignorant minds that are resting in a devil's workshop! Thanks to the amazing support from family and friends, I have never been a victim of such dehumanization, but there are so many young lives lost to the societal evil of homophobia! It is a lot to ask every single individual to make national protests against homophobia, but there are small changes we can make in our lives which are baby steps towards the larger goal! One thing I noticed is that people use the word "gay" to symbolize something negative! NOT COOL...It is not okay for people to say "that's gay" or "you're gay" for things they find unpleasant. Recently I saw a friend use the term "faggot" and we had a heated discussion on it. I know the person did not mean for it in a derogatory fashion, but how dare you think it is okay for anyone to use that word in any context??? Is this not one step back??? I was OFFENDED and I'm sure millions out there were too...
Second on the agenda, I wanted to clarify some things. This blog is not an outlet for me to criticize and "gossip" about people. I love to talk about fashion, family, friends, relationships, heartache, and so much more. If there is ever a time you think I have offended your sentiments, please write back and let me know how I can change it.
Now that we have gotten all of that cleared up, lets discuss one of my favorite things...MARGARITAS....I am in love with Hacienda and their strawberry/mango margs-They are FABULOUS and to die for. I really recommend everyone try one! Their food is super too! The other night we were at Hacienda- and one fishbowl and a couple of jumbos later, let me just tell you, thins were getting freaky! Move over cocaine, we are in for a tequila overdose....LOL
Talking about fabulous food, I wanted to ask all you dolls about what your favorite food was....Mine is definitely home cooked Indian food...especially now that I only eat it once every 4 months!!! :(
Well that's all for today! Write back and let me know what you wanna hear about or just what's on your mind lately! Even though I am swamped with tests, and homework and all that other fun stuff, I wanna know what you fabulous people are up to!!!!
Until next time....
Peace and Blessings, peace and blessings...
XOXO

FASHIONISTASSSS!!!

Hey Dolls!!!
so i realized that this is my first post for the new month of October!!! I have just been so tied up with college, tests, catching up with friends, research, and all that boring stuff that it has given me no time to post something fresh for you guys...even my mother said, "You haven't blogged in a long time!!!" But, things are about to change.
First things first. I promised you guys the last time we spoke that I had a fashion surprise for all you FABULOUS dolls! Therefore I have picked 5 MUST HAVES in your closet, regardless of the weather of course!
1. The most essential accessory to a woman's wardrobe is the quintessential stiletto! It is great for any occasion and looks great with almost anything! My good friends at ShoeDazzle have a great collection of shoes designed especially for your style statement! Some of the hottest new styles are below:

Alexander Wang Freja Lace-Up Boots

Louise Goldin spiked pump

Isabel Marant Otway Boot

2. Second, every person, whether male or female, must own a cute button down plaid shirt. Many times mistaken as a fall only accessory, the plaid shirt is great during all seasons.

You are allowed to wear plaid in any color. However flannel is just not acceptable! The great thing about plaid is that it is flattering! It works well for a plethora of body types!!!

3. At little rock accessory has never hurt anyone! I'm a big fan of the skeleton key necklace for women and those stunning wayfarer sunglasses that are ooh so chic, and invading all the runways of the fashion capitols!

4. The Mulberry Alexa Bag!!! This bag is just so delicious that one can't stop drooling over them. Watch out HERMES cause we have a new diva in town!

5. A great pair of jeans! Most people go wrong here because they choose something that is cost-effective but not style effective! Good jeans are an INVESTMENT dolls!!! There are jeans out there for all shapes and sizes and it is just about wearing the ones that flatter your assets and hide your flaws! If your a little chunky on the thighs then stay away from the straight cut skinnys! If you have nice toned legs then throw away those boyfriend jeans and wear something more fitted. I am a fan of boot-cut but not for someone who is below 5 ft tall! I am not going post a picture of the perfect jean because it varies from person to person! Dolls, head out to your nearest jean heaven and find yourself that perfect fit. ITS WORTH IT!!!

Hope you guys enjoyed this segment. Write back and tell me what you think of my top picks and if you agree/disagree, or just have some more suggestions!
Until next time...

Am I just hungover you???

Hey Dolls!!!
So today I wanted to talk about something that hits a little closer to home...in fact I was inspired by my good friend KE$HA and her song hungover that not only dealt with her recurring alcoholism and drug problems but also had a deeper mean of losing love!
One of my girlfriends just got out a serious relationship and she has been trying to pull herself back together...but its HARD!!! They were engaged for 8 months and then out of the blue, things were called off, and two weeks later he is apparently in love with someone else???? HOW RUDE!!!! Now let me tell you something about this FABULOUS doll; she is young, smart, independent, and definitely does not give a shit what you think about her cause she does what she wants!!! I always ask her and myself, how can someone with such a distinct personality still want to make things right with a DOUCHE BAG  like that???
Another girlfriend was in a serious relationship for about 18 months and let the man walk all over her...in fact she had style, she had flair, she was there, and that's why she became his NANNY!!! She finally called things off and is now happy and single, and definitely FABULOUS!!!!
The question we need to ask ourselves is why do we have such insecurities when it comes to relationships? Are we scared of being alone? I do get the point that there are always adjustments and sacrifices in a relationship, but how do people with such unique personalities become such conformists in a relationship???
One thing is for sure, I'm glad I got out my serious relationship when I did otherwise I would be a domesticated fool, and that would not be fabulous!!!
On a side note, my FABULOUS mother has become the new Carrie Bradshaw of the Eastern world, reporting all the hip and happening from the Upper-East side of India. A big shout out to Kari Bornong <3 who is moving to Des Moines to save the little kiddies out there! Love and power to my doll Lady GAGA for rocking out a beautiful Alexander McQueen and Argentinian meat dress, and also reminding the world about her love for the gays!
Write back to me with all your feedback dolls, I wanna know what you divas think! It is starting to get cold out here so its time to put away my hoodie and throw on my pea-coat! Next time I have a great surprise for all you fashionistas so get pumped dolls!!!
Do remember to tune into the fabulous new season of Gossip Girl and Glee...we are in for a TV viewing extravaganza this fall!
Until we meet again...

Somebody call 911!!!

Hey dolls!!!
so i realized that i have been a slacker in my postings...but i have just been so busy and not so fabulous, rocking it out in the LIBRARY!!!! Who knew college was this intense...they missed that part out in the orientation..LOL
On a different note, my FABULOUS eyes fell upon something rather strange this past week.
First, there was this not so FABULOUS wannabe doll who said blogs are so early 2000s...well given the fact that he is 20 and he would have been 10 in 2000, i dont know what blog he was reading...LOL...secondly this wannabe who will never be said that people don't care about my life!?! UGHH how RUDE!!! Ironically enough, this person has now started his own blog trying to talk about his not so FABULOUS life, which by the way includes living in a house infested with cats and dogs....is this ZOO WORLD????
This blog is not just about my life hunny, its about all of you the readers...its about us sharing our experiences and having a forum to reach-sometimes to discuss a hot topic, vent about how suckky our day was, or anything you feel at the time!
Second WEIRD sighting of the week, a man riding his bicycle, but hold your breath doll, with an attached boom box trailing behind him! This man legit had a little cart attached to his bike carrying this boom box!!!! I wish I had a picture but by the time i got over my SHOCK, he was gone!
Third weird sighting....KURT on Glee....hunny i know fashion has no gender but it is unacceptable to wear a washed out, grandma knit sweater along with a badly accented black tie up! I though Lea Michelle had it bad with naughty school girl knee-high socks and vintage skirts, that should have stayed vintage....
These were the top three SHOCKING sightings of the week that made me pull out my blackberry and call the fashion police, because that shit is UNACCEPTABLE!!!
I also wanted to know what you guys think about Joan Rivers as the new fashion police??? Im not a big fan of botox in a gold jacket, but that is just my opinion...
I hope all of you are enjoying the first day of fall and rocking out those pea-coats, wedges, metallic totes, and of course a KILLER attitude. Remember to stay stylish, and stay FABULOUS!!!
Until next time...
XOXO
